This week is National Salute to Veteran Patients Week – an annual opportunity for people to say thank you to 98,000 veterans who served this country in the U.S. armed services. There are several ways you can observe National Salute Week, including visiting or volunteering at a local VA medical center and helping to raise awareness about veteran issues. (Find out more here, and locate a VA center here.)

And in honor of National Salute Week, here is a video created by the Forward which shares the stories of two Jewish military servicemen who died while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The video accompanies a collection of 37 moving profiles of the known Jewish servicemen and women who died during service. (Read the profiles here.)
