Jacki Altman

A Colorado native, Jacki has been an experiential educator for over a decade. After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a BA in Anthropology and Film Studies, Jacki adventured to Miami, FL and never left. Her love of working with young people and crafting intentional programs grew in her roles as Youth Director of Temple Beth Am in Miami, FL and as Events Planner of the Student Center Complex at the University of Miami. Jacki values learning and is proud to hold a Master’s degree in Community & Social Change (MS. Ed) from the University of Miami, as well as a Certificate in Jewish Education from HUC-JIR. Her recent community work includes managing the Social Justice Teen Fellowship, an action-oriented program for Jewish teens that examines social justice issues at their root through partnership with local community organizations. Jacki sees the world through a “we” lens. Her approach to social change is rooted in critical reflection, intentional action, and collaboration. Jacki believes that through collective work and the amplification of marginalized voices, we can upend systems of oppression and reimagine society. She is excited to work with Repair the World and serve the dynamic Miami community. Jacki loves puzzles, puns, and nerding out about TV shows/movies.

Bianka Bermudez

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Bianka is a Nicaraguan American with a lot of love for her community and her city. She studied at Florida International University (FIU) and received an English degree with a concentration in Creative Writing, while also pursuing Women and Gender Studies. Bianka has always believed that the arts have an invaluable impact on society and cares deeply about the stories of underrepresented voices being heard in the media. In her time at FIU, she also served a term as the president of the Women and Gender Studies Student Association (WGSA) and was able to work alongside groups such as the National Organization for Women (NOW) and Planned Parenthood which further cemented her interest in volunteer work and gender equality. As a Latina woman and a member of the LGBT+ community, Bianka is invested in social justice work and excited to make an impact on her beloved city of Miami as a fellow with Repair the World. She hopes to be able to learn ways to put her studies into practice to tackle all areas of inequality in Miami and be able to hone the tools to support her community. In her free time, Bianka can be found writing poetry, creating art, and volunteering at local theaters with her sister.

Delayna Feuerzeig

Delayna has always been passionate about Judaism and her Jewish identity. Her ancestors inspire her values of community, justice, and liberation for all people. Delayna wants her life’s work to involve supporting Jews in connecting to their culture, history, and religion, as well as documenting Jewish history as they live it through art. She is originally from northern New Jersey and has a Bachelor’s Degree from the Commonwealth Honors College at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she majored in Social Thought & Political Economy and minored in Sustainable Community Development. In her free time, Delayna spends quality time with loved ones, crafting, thrifting, and watching bad reality TV. In her first year as a fellow with Repair the World Miami, Delayna focused on Early Childhood Education with local partners Branches and Lotus House. Delayna has learned so much in her time as a fellow in Miami, and is excited to continue engaging in service and growing as a person!

David Weitzman

Program Manager, Miami

David (he/him) is honored to be joining Repair the World as the Senior Program Associate in Miami. Born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, David completed his B.A. in Advertising from the Pennsylvania State University in 2019. He spent the past two years working as a Springboard Innovation Fellow at the University of Miami Hillel. Throughout David’s time at Hillel, he organized social justice programs for students on campus and partnered with Repair the World Miami on many of these projects. David is excited to combine his passion for social justice and Judaism in this new role. In his free time, you can find David rollerblading on the beach, working on his yoga practice, trying new restaurants in Miami, and hosting dinner parties for his friends.
